Becca's selection and rejection for front cover

I rejected this image and many more like it because one of the models aren't looking at the camera which ruins the shot. The white background isn't bright enough either.

Unfortunately one of the models had to go home because she felt ill. I needed two girls and couldn't get hold of anyone else so I had to model. My brother took the photos and my mum helped.

I rejected this image and many more like it because the models are too far away from each other. The white background isn't bright enough either. 

I accepted this image for my front cover because the light reflects nicely off our faces. The image follows the rule of thirds and it will look good with a plain white background which I will use photo shop to edit in. There are also a couple of blemishes on the photo such as a gap in the fringe of the blonde model, this however will be easy to edit.

I accepted this image for the contents page.This picture is from the same photo shoot as the above image so it also matches the house style.The photo was taken in my back garden and I did it here because the light was really bright and when my helper held the white card up the light reflected really well off the features of the photo.The prop again is the guitar but the model is holding it in a different position so the light reflected off the brown colour nicely and made it stand out. This is a centre-shot as the model is in the centre of the photo and does not follow the rule of thirds. He is looking into the distance and this makes the reader want to know what he's thinking.

The picture fits with the magazines house style as it is black white and orange and I dressed the model in a black t-shirt.This photo was taken in my back garden and I chose to do it here because the light was really bright and when my helper held the white card up the light reflected really well off the features of the artists face.The prop is a guitar because the artist is Matty Brundell and he plays the guitar and he is the top artist of the edition. I used the rule of thirds as he is on the third line to the right of the image. I chose to use a mid-shot for this image as you can see the body of the guitar. He is looking into the distance and this makes the reader want to know what he's thinking.
